I directed and produced In Open Air for Panhandle PBS, a three-part documentary series exploring public art in Amarillo and the surrounding region. The project brought together interviews, location footage, narration and an edit built to carry a story across multiple episodes.

That kind of production demands more than collecting attractive footage. You have to listen closely, recognize what an interview is really about and decide what belongs in the finished film. You have to keep a viewer oriented while giving the story room to develop.

Those skills matter to commercial clients, too. A business owner may have decades of experience and only a few minutes to explain it. A nonprofit may need to make its mission understandable through one person’s experience. The filmmaking challenge is to find the clearest, most compelling way in.
